November Farm Updates

November Farm Updates

Harvest, calving & the holidays

It has been a busy few months, but I am happy to say harvest is almost complete! We are so grateful for Dakota's unexpected time off work to help on the farm. I have learned that harvest and calving season with a very active, almost one year old, is not for the faint of heart!

As I write this, we only have 60 acres of our own corn to run, 200 of a customer's and then double crop beans. Double crop beans are planted in July after wheat has been harvested and allow us to try and generate a little bit more revenue. Fall calving is also complete with some very stout and healthy animals! We will be deworming and moving them onto cover crops before our registered herd starts calving in January.

We currently are available by appointment only, however we have a poll going on our Facebook page to see what open hours everyone is wanting! As the holidays approach, we are now accepting Christmas preorders! Cutoff will be November 17, so get your orders in today! (Our inventory online is not current, please reach out with any items you are looking for!)

On a personal update, we are in the process of scheduling Dakota's follow up surgery for his heel. There may be a week I will be unavailable. More information will be posted on our Facebook page as we get everything ironed out!

We are currently booking beef for November 17 at Shreve and November 26 for Pinhook. All hogs are sold out for November 19 with the next appointment being in 2026. Feel free to book your deposits online through our website to get your date scheduled!

Get your Christmas orders in by November 17.

We send a monthly newsletter with what's happening on the farm, special sales, hours and upcoming markets, recipes and more. If you would like to subscribe, scroll to the footer and enter your email address below!
